Sea freight, also known as ocean freight, is one of the longest established forms of transporting goods internationally. It's also one of the most economical. While air freight is favoured for time-sensitive shipments, sea freight is still the first choice for many businesses and individuals looking for a cost-effective solution.
Small businesses and individual customers may not typically consider sea freight as a viable option, as it tends to be associated with larger companies exporting high volumes of commercial cargo. But sea freight services can also be a great option for transporting personal effects.
A full container load (FCL) is cargo moving in a single rigid, sealed, reusable metal container in which the merchandise is shipped by an ocean carrier. All containers will have construction fittings, or fastenings able to withstand permanent distortion and all stresses that may be applied in normal service use of continuous transportation. We can provide door-to-door service including drayage for full containers. Shipping full containers can often be helpful in lowering shipping costs.
A less than container load (LCL) shipment is a shipment of cargo that does not fill a container and is merged with cargo for more than one consignee or from more than one shipper. LCL freight costs are based on a dollar amount per cubic meter. BGI's expert consolidation services can combine smaller shipments (LCL) that are going to the same destination port providing you with reduced shipping costs. At the port of destination, we carefully de-consolidate the shipment and arrange delivery to the final destination.
Sea freight is the most economical way of sending large volumes of goods internationally. If your delivery is not particularly time-sensitive, then we would recommend sea freight as a viable alternative to air freight or door-to-door courier services.
Air Freight is an essential component to any international logistics network. We can offer you choice and flexibility over the type of service available when sending freight by air.

• For consignments exceeding 100kg in weight we also have monthly special rates which are available to certain destinations.
Our air freight services operate from airport to airport. You can either drop the goods into one of our drop-off depots yourself, or arrange for a separate company to drop them off for you.
• When you drop the goods at the depot, you will need to ensure that all of the necessary shipping documentation is included.
• Once the goods have been shipped to the destination airport, the consignee will need to clear the goods through customs.
• In addition to these services, we provide an optional collection service whereby your goods are collected from an address of your choice and transported to the drop-off depot on your behalf.
